Over 800 people showed up for the eBay U event in Mesa, AZ on Oct 17, 2002. We nearly ran out of chairs. In spite of it all, they were a jolly and eager group with many questions and a great sense of humor.

But they didn't come just to eat, no sir. They came to learn and learn they did. This week's instructors (Louise, Steve and yours truly) put them through the eBay paces. By the end of the day, we had over 500 eBay experts eager to get home to test their new-found selling skills.

       eBay U in Wisconsin

Our eBay University seminar at the Brookfield Sheraton, just west of Milwaukee, was another home run in what has been a season of spectacularly successful eBay U seminars across the country.

eBay U attendees enjoyed a full day of instruction in topics from Basic Buying and Browsing to Advanced Selling taught by Louise Ruby, Steve Lindhorst and yours truly, Uncle.

Marion Kukla - vase-place at eBay and one of the world's only Hexologists  -  with Uncle outside the main ballroom. Marion came to learn the eBay Selling ropes so that she can start selling her own handmade Pennsylvania Dutch hex signs at eBay.

Ultimate Pens Ultimately on eBay

Many folks who attend one of our eBay University seminars are artists and craftpersons looking for tips about using eBay to promote their work and find new customers. One such person I met today was David Azriel  of Elkhorn, WI. David makes hand turned pens from rare and exotic hardwoods.

David and I talked about the importance of marketing and promotion on eBay. It is not enough to be a talented artist or craftsperson. It's not enough to just throw your work up on eBay and hope for the best. The key to success is knowing how to make the world aware of your work.

David Azriel of M.L. Specialties with a brochure showing a selection of his work. David has some pretty good ideas on how to get started, but the best idea of all of course is to start putting some of his amazing pens up for bid and sale at eBay.
