INTRODUCTION
You don't need special software to create an HTML page (or to format your eBay item description) - all you need is a text editor (in Windows, that would be Notepad), a web browser and a basic working knowledge of HTML. And basic HTML is easy!

PC users: To start, we open a blank Notepad file. Notepad can be started from the Windows Start menu at Programs:Accessories:Notepad (fig. 1).

You should now see a Notepad* window similar to fig. 2.

All of your “input” work for the rest of the lesson (in this case, your eBay item description)  will take place in this Notepad file. * (Mac Users!: Substitute Simple Text for Notepad)
