HTML - Getting Started
Next, open up an Internet Explorer (IE) browser window. This window is where we will view the text we input into our Notepad window. (We will be using Internet Explorer however, if you are a Netscape fan, you can easily adapt the following instructions for Netscape.)
To open an Internet Explorer window, click on Start, Programs (fig 3)

Fig. 3

Look for and click on an Internet Explorer icon (fig. 4) or Netscape icon (fig. 5) We are going to use Internet Explorer from this point on. (MAC users: you may have to use Netscape.)

TIP! If you already have Internet Explorer (IE) open, you can open a new IE window by clicking on the File command in the open IE window and then selecting New, and Window.
You should see a new IE window like in fig. 7. (We have resized our browser window to be quite small for printing purposes. Your window may be full size.)

Now we have both of our applications set up. Notepad for writing our HTML formatted text and Internet Explorer for reading the same text.
