Bennington EAGLE FLAG c1876 Norton Crock

This incredible blue and white stoneware crock depicts an eagle, USA and a flag and is signed J & E. Norton, Bennington, Vermont. This 6 gallon crock stands 13.5 inches tall and dates to circa 1876. The eagle has a wing span of 19.5 inches with USA across the breast. The flag has dots representing stars and contains 17 dots. The eagle is holding a laurel branch in his beak as well as one of his claws. The other claw is holding a grouping of arrows. There is early staple restoration down one side and across the bottom and a line measuring six inches running through the flag. You will never again see a piece of this historical magnitude come up.
